Virat Kohli Breaks Three Records in One IPL Match

In the final league stage match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) convincingly defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). With this victory, RCB surged to the second position on the points table and is set to face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 on May 29. The winner of this match will advance directly to the final.
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans (GT), which slipped to third position following RCB’s win, will play the Eliminator match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 30. The losing team in the Eliminator will be eliminated from the tournament, while the winner will compete in Qualifier 2 against the loser of Qualifier 1.
Virat Kohli, the star player of RCB who is in exceptional form this season, delivered another stellar performance in the match against LSG, scoring 54 runs off 30 balls and achieving three notable records.

Secondly, Virat Kohli crossed the 9,000-run milestone for RCB, becoming the first player to achieve this feat in IPL history. Since the league’s inception, he has amassed 9,030 runs in 271 innings — 8,606 runs from 257 IPL innings and 424 runs from 14 Champions League T20 innings. For comparison, Rohit Sharma has scored 6,060 runs for Mumbai Indians.
