Suriya Reveals: “My Film Inspired Someone to Become an IPS Officer”
Tamil actor Suriya, while promoting his upcoming film 'Kanguva', expressed his admiration for legendary actor Kamal Haasan, saying: “I have always been inspired by Kamal Haasan as an actor. Good films can bring about significant societal changes. For example, after watching my film 'Kaakha Kaakha', someone became an IPS officer. Following 'Jai Bhim', land titles were issued to 3 lakh people in Tamil Nadu. These kinds of impacts give immense satisfaction.”
Suriya's latest film 'Kanguva' is set to hit theaters on November 14. Directed by Siva, it is a periodic action film, with Disha Patani as the female lead. As part of the promotional tour, Suriya visited Hyderabad on Thursday, where he delivered an emotional speech to his fans: “Seeing your love brings tears to my eyes.
I am deeply grateful for the affection you show me, and in return, I have worked hard to give you a great cinematic experience with 'Kanguva'. Director Rajamouli has been a major inspiration for me to take on such projects. 'Kanguva' is not just a fighter movie, it is a warrior film—a story of someone who fights for his people and his beliefs.”
Suriya also mentioned his participation in Balakrishna’s 'Unstoppable' show: “It was an unforgettable experience to be on his show. Balakrishna’s discipline, hard work, and dedication are what made him reach such heights.”
Director Siva spoke about the film’s plot, saying: “The story is set a thousand years ago and revolves around the battles between five clans from ancient times. Just as everyone loved the trailer, I am confident the film will exceed those expectations. Inspired by Rajamouli’s works, I made this film. I previously remade Rajamouli's 'Vikramarkudu' in Tamil as 'Siruthai', which brought me success and the nickname 'Siruthai'. I firmly believe 'Kanguva' will impress all of you.”
