B.R. Naidu Shares How His Dream of Becoming TTD Chairman Came True
TV5 channel head B.R. Naidu was recently appointed as the Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD). A few days ago, he officially took charge. In this context, a media channel conducted a special interview with Naidu.
During the interview, Naidu expressed his amazement at being appointed to such an esteemed position related to the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple, a role he had deeply desired. He described the experience as beyond words and extended his gratitude to Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, Pawan Kalyan, and other senior NDA leaders.
Naidu openly admitted that he had always aspired to be the TTD Chairman. He revealed that his wish to serve the deity and hold this position started back when Kiran Kumar Reddy was Chief Minister. Although he had tried at that time, it had not been successful. He shared that he had personally expressed his desire to Chandrababu Naidu about a year and a half ago.
"I conveyed my wish to serve as TTD Chairman to Chandrababu, explaining that I have supported him for 40 years without requesting anything. I asked for this one opportunity," he said. According to Naidu, Chandrababu thought it over and responded positively, stating that he was indeed deserving of the position.
After the elections, on June 29, Naidu reminded Chandrababu of his promise to appoint him as TTD Chairman. True to his word, Chandrababu fulfilled the promise by appointing Naidu to the role.
Views on Devotee Darshan Times
The new TTD Chairman also shared interesting views on the process of darshan for devotees at the Tirumala temple. He expressed concerns over devotees being confined in compartments for up to 30 hours during peak times, only to be given a few seconds for darshan (viewing of the deity). Naidu questioned the satisfaction a devotee could gain from such a brief encounter after waiting for so long. He suggested that each devotee should be given at least 20 seconds to view the deity to enhance their experience.
Additionally, Naidu noted that VIP darshans would be restricted to just one or one-and-a-half hours, with the remaining time dedicated to providing darshan for general devotees.
