Two Key MoUs Signed in Andhra Pradesh Under Minister Nara Lokesh’s Leadership
As part of its efforts to position Andhra Pradesh as a hub for advanced technological innovation, the state government signed two crucial agreements with major organizations in the presence of IT, Electronics, and Education Minister Nara Lokesh.
MoU with Physics Wallah and Amazon Web Services
Physics Wallah (PW), an ed-tech company, in collaboration with its industry partner Amazon Web Services, announced plans to establish Andhra Pradesh’s first AI-focused Institute of Eminence (IoE) and University of Innovation (UoI). An MoU to this effect was signed with the state government. The university aims to integrate academic excellence and innovation while addressing key challenges in research, education, and employment.
Following a hub-and-spoke model, the central hub of the University of Innovation will provide hybrid learning experiences by combining online and in-person education, benefiting students from diverse backgrounds and regions.
MoU with Tony Blair Institute (TBI)
To modernize higher education, the Andhra Pradesh government also signed an MoU with the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI). The partnership focuses on aligning the state’s higher education system with global standards, improving employability, and addressing skill gaps in the current educational framework.
TBI will provide strategic advice to the state on implementing internationally recognized educational reforms. Its goal is to enhance the tertiary education landscape, including universities and polytechnic institutions, while promoting economic development through innovation-driven policies.
Minister Nara Lokesh’s Vision
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nara Lokesh said the agreements align with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision to make Andhra Pradesh a leader in artificial intelligence (AI). He emphasized the state’s commitment to fostering innovation and preparing its youth for future technological advancements.
“The University of Innovation will focus on skill development in line with industry demands, while the Institute of Eminence will work on integrating advanced technologies and education. We are paving the way for next-generation skills in AI,” said Nara Lokesh.
