Young and talented individuals who have completed an engineering degree or are in their final year of study now have a golden opportunity to serve the nation by joining the Indian Army. The Indian Army is inviting applications for the prestigious Technical Graduate Course (TGC-140) from eligible candidates. Those selected through this course will be commissioned as permanent officers in the Army with the rank of Lieutenant, following training. They will receive a starting salary of over ₹1 lakh per month.

Eligible candidates include unmarried male individuals who have completed or are in the final year of their Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degrees in specified engineering streams from a recognized university. For Computer Science posts, candidates with a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science or Information Technology are also eligible. Applicants must be between 20 and 27 years of age as of January 1, 2025, meaning only those born between January 2, 1998 and January 1, 2005 are eligible to apply. Interested candidates must submit their applications online via the official Indian Army website, joinindianarmy.nic.in, by 3 PM on May 29. Notably, there is no application fee for this process.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their engineering academic merit and called for interviews by the Services Selection Board (SSB). These interviews will be conducted in two stages over five days at the SSB center in Bengaluru. Stage 1 includes screening tests such as intelligence assessments, while Stage 2 includes psychological evaluations, group tasks, and personal interviews. Candidates who pass the SSB interview will then undergo medical examinations, followed by final selection. Those selected will begin approximately one year of intensive training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun starting from January 2026.
