Allocation of party tickets only on merit, Rahul tells T-Cong leaders

Hyderabad, May 7: Addressing the TPCC special extended executive committee meeting here on Saturday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi made it clear to the Telangana Congress leaders that party tickets will be allotted only on merit. “No recommendation or lobbying in Hyderabad and New Delhi will get tickets for you,” he said and reiterated that there will be no alliance between the TRS and Congress. He mentioned that tickets will be allotted based on survey reports.

Rahul stated that TRS chief and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is dependent on money and power to win elections while the Congress has support of people. He asked the Congress functionaries to popularise Warangal declaration among people.

The MP warned of serious action if any Congress leader expresses dissent before the media. “The Congress will hear different opinions of all leaders in internal meetings,” he added. TPCC president Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka, and 300 other important leaders have attended the meeting.
