Narayana to be produced before Chittoor Judicial Court; TDP leaders condemn arrest

Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh): The Chittoor police have confirmed the arrest of Chairman of Narayana Group of Educational Institutions and senior TDP leader P Narayana. The police said that he was arrested in Hyderabad around 10.30 am on Tuesday.

The Chittoor police have also revealed the details of the cases registered against Narayana on the occasion. They said a case under Sections 408,409, 201,120 (b) and 65 of the IT Act was registered against him under the Public Exams Prevention of Mall Practices Act. Cases have also been registered against Narayana under Sections 5, 8 and 10 of the Public Examinations Act. Meanwhile, police said that Narayana was shifted to Chittoor and will be produced before the Chittoor Judicial Court.

The TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Prathipati Pulla Rao and other leaders condemned the arrest of Narayana. The opposition termed the arrest a political conspiracy by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government.

TDP's Andhra Pradesh unit president K Atchan Naidu questioned how Narayana can be booked and arrested when Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana denied that there was any question paper leak.
