AP can get special status if YSRCP rejects support to BJP in presidential polls: Vundavalli

Rajahmundry, June 14: Former Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar on Monday said that the BJP-led Modi government will grant Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh if the YSRCP rejects support to the candidate proposed by the BJP in forthcoming Presidential elections.

Speaking to the media here, he said that Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has an agenda to counter BJP at national-level. “KCR has ability to lead an alternative force to fight against the BJP,” he mentioned. He gave a call to political parties opposing BJP to rally behind KCR.

To a question, Arun Kumar said that he retired from politics and conveyed the same to KCR. “The TRS chief asked me to stop the BJP rise in Andhra Pradesh,” he revealed. He further stated that KCR has an edge over West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as former can speak fluently in Hindi and Urdu. “I am confident that KCR can stop the BJP’s rise at national-level,” he added.
