PM Modi speaks about Goddess Kali amid TMC MP's controversial comments

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi made key comments when the Kali Mata controversy created a furore in the country. He said that all the people of the country will always have the blessings of Kali. He pointed out that Kali Mata is worshiped not only in Bengal but also across the country.

Speaking on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Swami Atmasthananda, Modi said that Ramakrishna Paramahamsa was also a worshiper of Goddess Kali. Although Swami Vivekananda was a very great person, he used to become like a child when it came to Kali Mata Puja. Swami Atmasthananda also worshiped Goddess Kali.

TMC MP Mahua Moitra's comment that Kali Mata is a Goddess, who eats meat and drinks alcohol, has caused a furore. She made these comments while responding to a controversial movie poster. But, BJP reacted strongly to this and demanded the suspension of Mahua for insulting Kali Mata.
But, she did not take back her comments.

She asked did the BJP had taken any lease of Hindu Dharma? “We know how to worship Kali Mata and traditions are different in Bengal,” she said. In this context, Modi's talk on the issue of Kali Mata became important. But, he did not mention the name of the TMC MP and the poster of the movie, which was the reason for all the controversy.
