CM Jagan reviews preparedness for heavy rains, asks officials to speed up relief operations

Amaravati, July 12: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a meeting at his camp office in Tadepalli to review the precautionary measures taken by officials in the wake of continuous rains across the state. He spoke with district collectors and SPs through video conference and directed them to speed up relief measures.
 
The CM told officials that second warning issued with water level rising in river Godavari in view of heavy rains and inflows from the tributaries. “People living in low-lying areas should be shifted to relief camps,” he said and added that that there should not be shortage of food and quality drinking water for the affected. 
 
Jagan made it clear to collectors and SPs to ensure no loss of life or property. Further, they were told to give Rs 2,000 to each family while returning to their villages and towns from relief centres. Home Minister Taneti Vanitha, Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy and higher officials attended the meeting.
