Chandrababu condemns attack on Rompicherla mandal TDP president
Amaravati, July 19: TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday condemned the attack on Rompicherla mandal TDP president V. Balakoti Reddy by political opponents.
The TDP leaders alleged that Narasaraopeta YSRCP MLA Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy’s followers G. Venkat Rao, Pammi Venkateswar Reddy, and three others attacked Balakoti with sharp weapons from behind near Alavala village in the early hours of Tuesday. “We have handed over a representation to the SP seeking protection for Balakoti,” they said.
In series of tweets, Chandrababu accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of encouraging the YSRCP leaders to kill the TDP leaders and workers. “Law and order in the state has deteriorated,” he blamed and criticised police officials for failing to prevent murder attempt on Balakoti. The injured TDP leader was admitted to a private hospital in Narasaraopeta with severe injuries. “Jagan should take responsible for attack on the TDP leader,” he said.
