Bharat Ratna award to Pingali Venkayya, Pawan Kalyan demands Modi govt
Amaravati, August 2: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and national flag designer Pingali Venkayya on the occasion of his 146th birth anniversary celebrations. In a press release, Pawan Kalyan stated that it is great pride for Telugu people as Pingali was born on the land of Telugu state.
Remembering contributions of Pingali in freedom struggle, the Jana Sena president stated that national flag designed by him had brought people together to fight against British rulers.
With the blessings of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Pingali’s flag was declared as national flag at Congress meeting in Vijayawada on March 21, 2021, he stated and added that freedom fighter also wrote and published a book called ‘A National Flag for India’.
As India is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Pawan Kalyan said that it is the wish of Telugu people that the Government of India should announce Bharat Ratna award to Pingali.
