KCR may announce Kusukuntla as Munugode candidate at public meeting

Hyderabad, August 19: Despite opposition from a section of TRS leaders against the candidature of Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has reportedly decided to field him once again in Munugode by-election.
 
Kusukuntla had contested from Munugode on TRS symbol in 2014 and 2018. But he suffered defeat in the hands of Congress candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy in 2018. According to reports, KCR will officially announce Prabhakar Reddy’s name in a public meeting to be held at Munugode on Saturday.
 
The CM entrusted the responsibility to Minister Jagadish Reddy to pacify dissident leaders so that they extend support to Kusukuntla in by-election. 
 
Meanwhile, the BJP is holding a public meeting at Munugode on August 21. Union Minister Amit Shah will attend as a chief guest for the meeting. Komatireddy Rajgopal will officially join the BJP in the presence of Amit Shah. The BJP is confident of Rajgopal’s victory in by-election.
