AP HC serves notice to MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi over illegal mud mining
Amaravati, August 22: Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday served a notice to TDP rebel MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi after hearing arguments over a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed alleging that followers of MLA are involved in illegal mud mining in several lakes including Brahmaiah Lingam Cheruvu in Gannavaram Assembly constituency.
Notices were also served to the Centre, AP government, and Mining Department. The High Court adjourned the hearing after 8 weeks. Few months ago, YSRCP leader Dutta Ramachandra Rao had complained to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy against Vamsi alleging MLA’s followers are illegally mining mud from lakes.
