Hyd: Opening of Chandrayanagutta flyover by KTR postponed

Hyderabad, August 23: Officials postponed inauguration of Chandrayanagutta flyover by IT and Industries Minister K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) on Tuesday due to protests erupted in old city over the remarks made by BJP MLA Raja Singh in a video against Prophet Muhammad. Even the police officials received information that the BJP activists are planning to disrupt flyover opening programme. According to sources, the flyover will be thrown open to public on August 27.
 
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) built the four-lane bi-directional flyover under the SRDP at a cost of Rs 45.79 crore. The length of flyover extended from 400 metres to 1.07 km for smooth flow of traffic in the old city. 
 
The flyover will beneficial to commuters travelling towards Nalgonda and Warangal through LB Nagar crossroads from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad. It will also put an end to traffic woes at the Chandrayangutta Junction.
