Solar-roof cycling track a jewel in the crown of Hyd, says KTR after laying stone

Hyderabad, September 6: Minister for IT and Industries K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) laid foundation stone for the proposed solar-roof cycling track here on Tuesday. Terming solar-roof topped cycling track as a jewel in the crown of Hyderabad, KTR said that the Telangana government is promoting cycling track first of its kind in India which generates 16 MW solar power.
 
In the first phase, solar-roof cycling track will be laid along ORR for 23 km with 4.5 metres wide. The track will start from Nanakramguda to Telangana State Police Academy (TSPA) and Narsingi to Kollur. In a tweet, KTR stated that the HMDA will bring the track in use before 2023 summer.
 
The minister further said that the state government decided to lay the track in Hyderabad after careful study of South Korea and Dubai models. “Employees working in IT sector can use the cycling track from house to office and vice versa. Also, cycling will be a good physical exercise to them,” he mentioned. Ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy and Srinivas Goud, MP Ranjith Reddy and officials were present.
