YSR name apt for health varsity: YSRCP

Amaravati, September 21: Responding to slogans of the TDP members in the House on Wednesday opposing former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s name to NTR University of Health Sciences, YSRCP MLA G. Srikanth Reddy said that YSR name is apt for health varsity as he brought reforms in health sector by introducing Aarogyasri scheme which saved lives of the poor in AP.

Deputy Chief Minister K. Narayanaswamy mentioned that the YSRCP government gave respect to TDP founder and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) by naming Krishna district after him. “TDP members have no right to speak about NTR for backstabbing him,” he criticised. Amidst ruckus, Speaker Thammineni adjourned the House for some time.

Talking to reporters at Assembly media point here, Minister Jogi Ramesh recalled that YSR always gave priority to health of the poor. “Thousands of people were alive today because they were admitted in hospitals during golden hour due to 108 ambulance services introduced by YSR,” he said.
