Sajjala gives clarity over Jagan being elected as YSRCP lifetime prez

Amaravati, September 22: Responding to the reports of the Election Commission of India (ECI) seeking clarification over Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was elected as YSRCP lifetime president, YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Thursday said that the CM outrightly rejected the resolution of making him as permanent president. “It was not mentioned in the minutes as resolution was rejected by Jagan,” he clarified.

Sajjala said that the YSRCP had taken a decision in February this year to hold elections to president post for every five years and the same was informed to the ECI. “Once again, the YSRCP will inform the poll body that the YSRCP will conduct president post elections once in five years,” he mentioned.

To a question, Sajjala stated that Jagan Reddy has enormous respect towards TDP founder and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR). CM honoured NTR by naming Krishna district after him. “TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu wants to erase NTR’s name permanently from the annals of history,” he criticised.
