'Kantara' creating waves in Telugu states; wins accolades of Tollywood, Kollywood

Hyderabad: ‘Kantara’, which became a massive hit in Kannada, is also impressed the audience of Telugu states. The Telugu version was released on October 15. The film made sensational collections on the first day in Telugu states.

Trade sources claim that it has collected a share of over Rs 2 crore. It is reported that the theatrical rights of the Telugu version were sold for Rs.2 crore. It is noteworthy that the film reached break even on the first day itself.

 On the first day, the film collected Rs 5 crore gross, it has been officially announced by the makers. It may be recalled that 'Kantara' secured 9.6 rating on IMDb. 'KGF-2' has surpassed the 'RRR' ratings. On IMDb, 'KGIF-2' got 8.4 rating and 'RRR' got 8 rating. 'Kantara' beat the ratings of both these films.

Actor Rishab Shetty not only acted in the movie but also directed it. When it comes to the story of 'Kantara'... a king of a kingdom has all kinds of riches but suffers from something. Searching for peace of mind, he finds it in a statue in the forest. He asks the people of the village to give him the statue. Instead, he will give the forest and the nearby land to the people. A few years later a king of the same clan tries to reclaim the land. But, those efforts fail. After that, the people of the village rely on that forest for their livelihood.

The forest officer Kishore threatens the people there that the forest and the lands there are part of the reserve forest and have been encroached on by the people of the village. He gives trouble by saying that it is the government's order.

Meanwhile, the chief of the village, who belongs to the clan of kings, tries to grab the lands back. Rishabh Shetty (Shiva) obstructs the village head, who is trying to grab the lands. Every now and then a Goddess appears in Shiva's dream and tells him something. Who is that Goddess? Did the village chief take back the lands? The movie is based on the story of whether Shiva won the battle against the village elder or not.
