Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Orders Inquiry into Hyderabad Outer Ring Road Toll Tenders
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the irregularities in the tender process for collecting toll taxes on the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road. He expressed outrage over the manner in which tenders were awarded for amounts that potentially undermine significant revenue due to the government. The review was carried out at the Secretariat on Wednesday, focusing on the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
During the meeting, the Chief Minister criticized the process for not determining a minimum bid amount for the tenders, questioning the officials on who was involved, which organizations were part of this, and who should be held accountable. He emphasized the need to scrutinize every aspect of the involvement and responsibilities.
"The irregularities in the tenders, the procedures followed, and the movement of files need to be fully disclosed, and this responsibility is being entrusted to HMDA Joint Commissioner Amrapali. Once a complete report is received from HMDA, we will discuss this matter in the Cabinet and decide whether to hand it over to the CBI or another equivalent investigating agency," said the Chief Minister. He also instructed officials to register cases against those responsible if it is found that files related to this matter have disappeared.
