Telangana govt announces Half-Day School schedule amid rising temperatures

Hyderabad: The Education Department of Telangana has decided to conduct half-day schools in both government and private schools starting from the 15th of this month. This critical decision was made in response to the rising temperatures in the state since the last week of February.

According to the latest announcement by the state government, all schools in the state will conduct classes only during the morning session, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, starting from the 15th of this month. After the morning session, students in government schools will be provided with a midday meal. This half-day schedule will continue until April 23, after which summer holidays will be announced.

In schools serving as examination centres for the 10th grade, afternoon sessions will still be conducted. The examinations will be held in the morning, followed by classes for the students in the afternoon. After providing the students with a midday meal, the afternoon classes will commence. The officials from the Education Department have stated that arrangements are being made to revert to the morning schedule after the completion of the 10th-grade exams.
