CM Revanth extends Congress invitation to BJP's Jitender Reddy ahead of Lok Sabha elections
Hyderabad: On Thursday, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the residence of senior BJP leader Jitender Reddy, extending an invitation to join the Congress party. Jitender Reddy, who was hoping to secure the BJP ticket for the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections, was disappointed when the ticket was allocated to former minister DK Aruna. This decision left Jitender Reddy deeply dissatisfied.
In this context, along with Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, CM Revanth Reddy personally visited his residence and invited him to join the Congress party.
This move comes as potential shockwaves to the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, with speculations that Jitender Reddy is also inclined to join Congress. The BJP released its second list of candidates yesterday evening, in which the Mahabubnagar seat was allocated to DK Aruna, despite Jitender Reddy's interest in contesting from this constituency. He had won this seat in 2014 contesting for BRS.
