Delhi Court issues warning to Kavitha for media interaction
New Delhi: In the Delhi liquor policy scam case, the court issued a warning to BRS MLC Kavitha, who was arrested in connection with the case, on Monday for speaking with the media within the court premises. The court expressed its displeasure regarding her interactions with the press, questioning how she could respond to journalists' queries in such a setting. Justice Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court strongly advised against such behavior and extended her judicial custody until the 23rd of this month. Following this, officials transferred Kavitha from the court to Tihar Jail.
During this incident, Kavitha spoke again with the media, disregarding the judge's warnings. She claimed that her custody was politically motivated by the BJP rather than by the CBI, stating, "This is not CBI custody; it's BJP custody. They have been asking the same questions for two months. What the BJP asks outside, the CBI repeats inside. There's nothing new in this." Kavitha's petition for interim bail was already dismissed by the court, and her petition for regular bail is scheduled for consideration on the 16th of this month.
