YS Jagan Claims Manifestos Attain Their True Honor Under His Leadership

During a recent event marking the release of the YSR Congress Party's manifesto, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy clarified that unlike other politicians, he does not make unfeasible promises just for votes, particularly taking a jab at his predecessor, Chandrababu Naidu. Jagan emphasized that his promises are realistic and achievable. He reverently described the manifesto as a sacred text, akin to religious scriptures like the Bible, the Quran, and the Bhagavad Gita, underscoring that such documents should be treated with utmost respect and sincerity.

Jagan pointed out that the real value and honor of election manifestos have been restored during his administration. Reflecting on the 2014 elections, he noted that not succumbing to the pressure of making impossible promises contributed to his party's loss, a mistake he has learned from without regret. He emphasized his intent to be remembered with dignity rather than as a discredited figure in history.

He also took pride in having fulfilled the promises made before the last assembly elections, stating that he can now face the public with confidence, unlike his opponents. Copies of the manifesto have been distributed across all government offices in the state, and an annual 'progress card' on the manifesto's promises is sent to every household, illustrating transparency and accountability in his governance.

Addressing the actions of the opposition, Jagan accused Chandrababu Naidu of recycling old promises in the current election cycle, showing evidence from the TDP's 2019 manifesto that still featured alliances unchanged from the past. He criticized these as hollow promises meant to deceive the public.
