YS Sharmila Pens Open Letter to CM Jagan Criticizing Governance
YS Sharmila, the President of Andhra Pradesh Congress, wrote a letter to Chief Minister Jagan today, criticizing the deteriorating living standards of the marginalized and vulnerable groups under his administration. She highlighted that these groups are being deprived of their constitutional rights and accused the government of misappropriating funds and failing to implement a proper budgetary sub-plan.
Sharmila charged that the 28 welfare schemes that continued until Jagan's tenure were neglected upon his assumption of power. She also raised concerns over the increasing attacks and atrocities against Dalits, alleging that the government is turning a blind eye and not taking specific actions to protect them. According to Sharmila, the majority of the perpetrators belong to Jagan's party and are causing harm rather than benefit to the SC community.
In her letter, Sharmila demanded an apology for the injustices meted out to the SC and ST communities over the past five years and urged the government to ensure no further discrimination takes place. She emphasized that as a responsible political party, this is the demand of the Congress.
