Lokesh Drives AI and Renewable Energy Initiatives with Global Tech Leaders in Mumbai
MUMBAI: Andhra Pradesh State Education, IT, and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh held key meetings in Mumbai on Thursday with global technology leaders to boost the state's focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and renewable energy initiatives.
In his first meeting, Lokesh met Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to discuss the integration of AI in governance and the potential establishment of an AI University in Amaravati. Lokesh emphasized the need for AI-driven solutions to improve government services and sought Nvidia's support in developing the proposed university. Huang expressed optimism about the future of AI and its transformative role, outlining how Nvidia’s technologies are already leading advancements in fields like speech recognition, medical imaging, and supply chain management.
Nvidia, valued at $3.5 trillion according to a recent Bloomberg report, plays a pivotal role in the AI sector globally. Its CEO, Jensen Huang, is ranked the 11th richest person in the world, further highlighting the company's influence in the tech industry.
In a separate meeting, Lokesh met with representatives from Serentica Global, a Vedanta Group subsidiary, to discuss plans for a massive investment in renewable energy projects in Andhra Pradesh. Serentica Global aims to set up 10 GW of renewable energy projects in the state, contributing to Andhra Pradesh's ambitious target of generating 72 GW of renewable energy by 2030. Lokesh welcomed the investment and highlighted the job opportunities that such projects would create for the state's youth.
These meetings align with Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to position itself as a leader in both AI and renewable energy sectors, driving economic growth and technological innovation in the region.
