Today is a Fortunate Day for YSRCP Social Media Activists: Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy
YSRCP social media in-charge Sajjala Bhargav Reddy was granted relief by the Supreme Court today, which directed the Andhra Pradesh Police not to arrest him for two weeks. The Supreme Court also advised Bhargav Reddy to file a petition in the High Court within this period. Against this backdrop, YSRCP leader Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy made some noteworthy remarks.
Speaking on the matter, Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy stated that today is a fortunate day for YSRCP social media activists. He emphasized that it is the party's responsibility to protect every activist. He added that a petition was filed on Bhargav Reddy’s behalf in the Supreme Court, which granted him two weeks of protection from arrest. The court also allowed him to file a quash petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Ponnavolu accused the coalition government of misusing Section 111. He asserted that Section 111 does not apply to incidents that occurred before July 1, 2004. Furthermore, he explained that for Section 111 to be invoked, there must be at least two charge sheets against the accused. He clarified that social media activists do not fall under the purview of this section.
