Major Blow to BRS as Two Key Leaders Join Congress

The BRS party has suffered a setback as former MLA Atram Sakku joined the Congress party. He was welcomed into the Congress fold by TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud. Atram Sakku, who won as an MLA from Asifabad in 2009 and 2019, had achieved these victories while representing the Congress party. However, after winning in 2018 as a Congress candidate, he later shifted allegiance to the BRS party.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he contested from the Adilabad parliamentary constituency but lost to BJP candidate Godam Nagesh. Additionally, former Adilabad MP and BJP leader Soyam Bapurao also joined the Congress party. Soyam Bapurao had contested and won as a BJP candidate in 2019.

Ahead of the 2024 elections, BJP announced a ticket for Godam Nagesh from Adilabad, which reportedly caused dissatisfaction for Soyam Bapurao. Subsequently, he joined the Congress party. Both leaders officially joined the Congress at the party office in Hyderabad, where they were draped with the Congress flag and welcomed by Mahesh Kumar Goud.
