Telangana Cold Wave: IMD Warns of Severe Drop in Temperatures
Telangana is experiencing a severe cold wave as icy winds cause significant discomfort to residents. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad center has issued a weather alert, forecasting that this cold spell will persist until Saturday, December 14. It warned that several districts across the state will experience intense cold winds, with minimum temperatures possibly dropping to as low as 5°C. Adilabad, Kumram Bheem, Mancherial, and Nirmal districts are expected to record the lowest temperatures.
Over the past two days, Adilabad recorded minimum temperatures, while districts like Nirmal, Medak, and Sangareddy saw temperatures fall below 10°C, causing severe discomfort to residents.
The IMD has advised people to take precautions, especially in the early mornings and evenings, when the cold intensifies. Residents are urged to wear warm clothes to stay protected from the biting cold.
Additionally, IMD has predicted overcast skies for Hyderabad city until December 15, with foggy weather likely in many parts. Areas including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally are expected to experience cloudy and misty conditions during this period.
