CP CV Anand Apologizes for Remarks on National Media Over Sandhya Theatre Incident

Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand expressed regret over his remarks directed at the national media during a press meet addressing the Sandhya Theatre incident yesterday. He admitted losing his composure due to provocative questions and issued an apology to the national media through a social media post. Additionally, Anand retracted his earlier comments accusing the national media of supporting the incident.

The press conference, held on Sunday, aimed to clarify the facts surrounding the tragic death of Revathi and the stampede-like situation at Sandhya Theatre. During the event, CV Anand presented a PowerPoint presentation detailing the events at the theatre. While responding to media queries, Anand remarked that the national media was supporting the incident. These comments sparked objections from attending journalists, leading to visible dissent.

Addressing the backlash, Anand took to Twitter to apologize for his remarks, stating, “I lost my temper due to provocative questions and made those comments. I should have exercised more restraint. Recognizing my mistake, I sincerely apologize to the national media.”
