Facial Recognition System Proposed for Faster Tirumala Darshan

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board is implementing measures to ensure devotees visiting Tirumala can complete their Sri Venkateswara darshan in minimal time. Recently appointed TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu has been actively pursuing advancements in this area. In a significant development, B.R. Naidu held discussions with representatives from two AI technology firms, Aaseya and Ctruh.

The AI model jointly developed by Aaseya and Ctruh was demonstrated to the TTD members. Under this system, a devotee’s facial recognition details are recorded initially. A kiosk then generates a token in the form of a barcode slip, containing the devotee’s details and the allotted darshan time. At the designated time, when the devotee arrives at the queue entry point, facial recognition enables the automatic opening of the gate.

Representatives from Aaseya and Ctruh showcased the AI-driven process through a live demonstration to the TTD board members. During the presentation, B.R. Naidu revealed that these companies currently provide AI services across 14 countries. He also stated that several other firms have expressed interest in offering AI solutions for improving the darshan process. B.R. Naidu assured that after evaluating all proposed concepts, the most efficient system would be finalized and implemented.
