AgriGold Scam: ₹6,380 Crore Fraud Cases to Be Fast-Tracked, Says AP CS

The Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, Neerab Kumar Prasad, has directed officials to ensure timely justice for the victims of the AgriGold scam. On Tuesday, during a review meeting at the state secretariat concerning AgriGold assets, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need for swift resolution of cases to facilitate the return of lost assets to the affected depositors. He instructed the AP CID and other relevant departments to take necessary measures to expedite the process.

During the meeting, CID IG Vineet Brijlal presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation, explaining that a total of 23 Government Orders (GOs) have been issued in connection with the AgriGold fraud. He highlighted that the scam spanned across nine states, involving deposits collected from 1.9 million individuals, amounting to approximately ₹6,380 crore. He assured the attendees that steps are being taken to accelerate the resolution of these cases.

The meeting was attended by several key officials, including AP IIC VC and MD Abhishekh Kishore, Legal Department Secretary G. Pratibha Devi, and Home Department Special Secretary Vijay Kumar. Additionally, DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao and other officials participated virtually.
