Telugu Cinema Elevated Indian Film Industry Globally: MP Anurag Thakur

BJP MP Anurag Thakur lauded the contributions of Telugu cinema, emphasizing its pivotal role in placing the Indian film industry on the global map. Speaking to ANI, Thakur stated, "The contributions of Telugu actors and filmmakers to Indian cinema are unparalleled. They have elevated Indian cinema to a global standard."

Addressing the recent stampede incident at the premiere show of "Pushpa 2: The Rule," Thakur expressed his support for actor Allu Arjun while criticizing actions taken against him by Telangana police. "Some individuals seem to be deliberately attempting to tarnish the reputation of this Telugu actor," he alleged.

Thakur highlighted the growing global recognition of Telugu cinema, referencing prestigious awards conferred during Narendra Modi’s government. "In recent years, Allu Arjun has received a National Award, and Chiranjeevi has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. The entire nation and the world have recognized Telugu cinema's contributions."

He also credited films like "RRR," "Pushpa," "KGF," and "Baahubali" for bringing international acclaim to Indian cinema.

The BJP leader further criticized the handling of controversies surrounding Telugu actors, urging dialogue and resolution instead of political confrontations. "Congress leaders and MLAs in Telangana are making statements that cast doubt on the intentions of the state government," he remarked.
