"You Cannot Act as You Wish": Chandrababu Counters Jagan

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has strongly criticized YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for visiting the Guntur Mirchi Yard despite the enforcement of the election code of conduct. Chandrababu Naidu accused Jagan of violating the Election Commission’s (EC) directives, stating, "You cannot act as you wish." He questioned how the police could provide protection for unauthorized activities and emphasized that political leaders should act in a democratic manner rather than resorting to intimidation.

Addressing concerns over declining chili prices, Chandrababu Naidu stated that this year has seen an unprecedented drop in rates. He attributed this to reduced demand in international markets and stressed the need to support chili farmers. Chandrababu Naidu called for a review of the reasons behind the decline in exports and suggested that cultivation costs should be realistically assessed while determining prices. He also mentioned discussions with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan regarding price stabilization and ongoing consultations with the Union Ministry of Commerce.

On the Polavaram project, Chandrababu Naidu revealed that discussions were held with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to completing the project by 2027. Chandrababu Naidu blamed the previous government’s inefficiency for failing to utilize central funds effectively and assured that all central government schemes would be fully implemented under the current coalition government.
