OTT Version of 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' Released with Reduced Runtime
The much-anticipated film Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which entertained audiences during the Sankranti festival, has now been released on OTT. However, unlike many films that arrive on streaming platforms with additional runtime, this movie has surprised viewers by having a shorter duration than its theatrical version.
The film, which originally ran for 2 hours and 24 minutes in theaters, is now available on ZEE5 with a reduced runtime of 2 hours and 16 minutes. This unexpected cut has left fans puzzled. Adding to the speculation, recent social media discussions suggested that director Anil Ravipudi might include some deleted comedy sequences in the OTT version. Specifically, reports indicated that flashback scenes featuring Meenakshi Chaudhary and Venkatesh could be reinstated.
Contrary to these expectations, the OTT version does not include any additional scenes. Instead, approximately eight minutes of footage have been removed. The film’s team has not yet issued an official statement regarding these edits.
