TDP’s SVSN Varma Reacts After Missing Out on MLC Position
Former TDP MLA SVSN Varma, who had given up the Pithapuram Assembly seat for Pawan Kalyan, was widely speculated to be a confirmed candidate for an MLC position. However, his name was not included in the list of TDP candidates for the MLC elections under the MLA quota. Following this development, reports suggested that Varma was deeply dissatisfied with the decision.
In this context, Varma held a key meeting with party workers in Pithapuram, where he addressed concerns regarding his exclusion from the MLC nominations. He reiterated his long-standing association with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), stating, “I have been with the party for 23 years and have worked on various issues under the leadership of TDP Chief and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.” He affirmed that the directives of Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh were of utmost importance to him, his family, and the TDP workers in the Pithapuram constituency. He emphasized his commitment to abiding by the party’s decisions.
Varma acknowledged the challenges involved in political appointments, stating that distributing positions even at the constituency level was a difficult task, and doing so at the state level was even more complex. He expressed his understanding of the situation and indicated his acceptance of the party’s decision.
