Leopard Sighting Again in Tirumala Sparks Fear Among Devotees

Leopard movements have once again caused concern in Tirumala, heightening fear among devotees. Reports of leopards roaming the area emerged two weeks ago as well, particularly affecting pilgrims walking from Alipiri to Tirumala on foot, leading to anxiety and apprehension.

In response, officials from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) promptly initiated safety measures to protect devotees. As part of these efforts, a cage was set up near the Tirupati Vedic University to capture the leopard. The animal was successfully trapped at that location, providing temporary relief to the public.

However, a new leopard sighting has now reignited fear among pilgrims. According to the reports, the leopard was seen moving through the forested area from Zoo Park Road toward the Tirumala toll gate. Upon noticing the animal, security personnel immediately informed the Forest Department.

Authorities from the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department are reportedly preparing to establish a dedicated monitoring cell to oversee leopard activity. This specialized unit will be equipped with satellite surveillance, advanced cameras, GPS technology, and other systems to ensure continuous monitoring.

The cell is expected to be housed in the building that currently serves as the Forest Museum in Tirumala.
