Group-1 Irregularities: Another Case Filed Against PSR Anjaneyulu

Senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu, who previously served as the Intelligence Chief during the YSR Congress Party government's tenure, has had another case registered against him. He is already under judicial custody at Vijayawada District Jail following his arrest in the Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani case. PSR Anjaneyulu also served as the Secretary of the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) during the same government’s term.

During his tenure at APPSC, allegations emerged regarding irregularities and financial misappropriation in the evaluation process of the Group-1 (2018) main examination answer sheets. Based on these complaints, the police have now registered a case against PSR Anjaneyulu. Officials reportedly kept the matter confidential and assigned the investigation responsibility to a senior officer.

Following a report received from the APPSC, the Chief Secretary to the Government, Vijay Anand, issued directives to the Director General of Police to register a case and initiate an investigation. Consequently, a fresh case has been filed against PSR Anjaneyulu at Surya Rao Pet Police Station in Vijayawada under sections related to cheating, misuse of funds, and criminal conspiracy. Special teams have commenced the investigation, and according to sources, after the completion of preliminary inquiries, there is a possibility that the case may be transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
