AP, UNICEF Launch Major Youth Skill Development Initiatives

The Andhra Pradesh government has entered into a significant agreement with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to enhance skill development and empowerment among unemployed youth in the state. As part of this collaboration, the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) and UNICEF have jointly launched three major youth-focused initiatives.

The signing ceremony for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place at Undavalli residence, in the presence of Minister for Education and Information Technology Nara Lokesh. Representatives from APSSDC and UNICEF's YuWaah initiative formally signed the MoU during the event.

Under this agreement, APSSDC and UNICEF will collaboratively implement the following three programs: Youth for Social Impact (YFSI), Youth Hub, and Passport to Earning (P2E). These initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in realizing the Swarnandhra vision by nurturing entrepreneurship at the household level. The programs aim to foster innovation, inclusion, and sustainable livelihood opportunities among the youth.

Through the Youth for Social Impact program, around 200,000 students pursuing polytechnic, undergraduate, and engineering education will receive training to develop entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills. This training will be delivered based on UNICEF’s Global Framework.

The Youth Hub program will provide employment, skill development, and volunteer opportunities through a multilingual digital platform integrated with the Andhra Pradesh Skill Portal.

The Passport to Earning (P2E) initiative will offer free, internationally recognized digital and professional skills training to young individuals between the ages of 15 and 29.
