Police Crack Bheemunipatnam Married Woman’s Murder Case

The police have solved the case of a married woman’s murder that occurred in Bheemunipatnam, Visakhapatnam district. Kranti Kumar, who committed the murder, has been arrested. Visakhapatnam Commissioner of Police Shankha Brata Bagchi disclosed the details of the case to the media.

On Friday morning, police discovered a partially burned female body beside National Highway 26 near Fortune Hills UDA Layout under Dakamarri Panchayat. Investigation revealed that the woman had been murdered by slitting her throat and then set on fire using petrol.

The presence of a burned black-beaded marriage chain around the woman’s neck confirmed that she was married. Six special teams were formed to investigate the case. The police identified Kranti Kumar, who had an extramarital affair with Venkatalakshmi, as the perpetrator. Kranti Kumar has two wives and was residing near the deceased's residence with his second wife. During this period, he developed a relationship with Venkatalakshmi, which led to an extramarital affair. Conflicts arose between his second wife and Venkatalakshmi, prompting Kranti Kumar to shift his second wife to another block.

Nevertheless, Kranti Kumar continued his extramarital relationship with Venkatalakshmi. Frequent quarrels with both his wives over this issue and Venkatalakshmi’s pressure to spend more time with her reportedly led him to devise a plan to eliminate her. As part of the plan, he lured her out under the pretext of eating ice cream and took her out on his bike. Along the way, he refueled the bike and also filled petrol in a bottle. He then took her to Dakamarri Layout on the pretext of physical intimacy and murdered her by slitting her throat with a knife.

To portray the crime as a robbery, he removed the jewelry from her body, poured petrol over her, and set her on fire. The police investigation initially identified the deceased as Venkatalakshmi. Subsequently, her son informed the police that she had gone out with Kranti Kumar, as told by her mother. Based on this lead, the police pursued that angle and arrested Kranti Kumar.
