CRPF Jawan Dismissed for Marrying Pakistani Woman, Seeks Modi’s Intervention

Muneer Ahmed, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, has alleged that he was unfairly dismissed from service over accusations that he concealed his marriage to a Pakistani national. Ahmed has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and ensure justice in his case.
According to reports, Muneer Ahmed, who served in the 41st Battalion of the CRPF, married Menal Khan from Pakistan via video call in May 2024. Subsequently, she arrived in India on a visa. However, CRPF officials claimed that Ahmed failed to report his marriage to the department. They further alleged that even after Khan’s visa expired, he continued to keep her in India without informing the authorities. The issue reportedly came to light during heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, after which Indian authorities urged Pakistani nationals residing in India to return to their home country.
Ahmed has refuted the allegations, stating that he had informed his superiors about the relationship well in advance. Speaking to national media, Ahmed said, “I married Menal Khan in 2024. I’ve been informing the authorities about our relationship since 2022. What is there to hide? I was shocked to learn that I was removed from service. I did nothing wrong. I was deliberately dismissed.”
He added that he possesses evidence proving he had notified his department beforehand. Expressing distress over his dismissal, Ahmed said, “As a jawan, I deserve justice. I urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to look into this injustice and help me get justice.”
