TTD EO Shyamala Rao Promises Seamless Footpath Darshan to Tirumala

J. Shyamala Rao, the Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), assured that facilities on the Srivari Mettu pedestrian route to Tirumala will be further improved to enhance the convenience of devotees. Based on reports of difficulties faced by devotees in obtaining Divya Darshan tokens and the inconvenience caused by auto-rickshaw drivers, Shyamala Rao conducted an on-site inspection today to assess the situation directly. TTD Additional Executive Officer C.H. Venkayya Chowdary and Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam also participated in the inspection.
During the visit, J. Shyamala Rao stated that the TTD is aware of the severe difficulties devotees are facing in securing tokens along the Srivari Mettu route. He mentioned complaints about the lack of cooperation from auto-rickshaw drivers and allegations that some of them are exploiting the TTD’s facilities for personal gain while collecting excessive fares from devotees. He emphasized that measures are being taken to find a permanent solution to these problems.
J. Shyamala Rao explained that the existing facilities provided by TTD are being re-evaluated to offer more robust and improved services to devotees. As part of these efforts, he said that the number of RTC buses operating from Tirupati to the Srivari Mettu route may be increased and that the number of token-issuing counters might also be expanded. He added that suggestions and feedback from devotees would be taken into consideration in developing more effective facilities. He reiterated that the aim is to ensure every devotee who chooses to reach the temple on foot has a smoother and more comfortable experience.
The inspection team also included TTD Chief Engineer Satyanarayana, Superintendent Engineers Venkateswarlu and Manoharam, Deputy EO Lokanatham, and other officials.
