IAF's Vyomika Singh: The Pilot Behind Operation Sindoor

India has avenged the Pahalgam terror attack by destroying nine terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir through a strategic military initiative named Operation Sindoor. The Indian Ministry of Defence and Ministry of External Affairs jointly briefed the media on the operation's execution and outcomes.
Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Indian Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh led the media briefing, providing detailed insights into the mission.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh of the Indian Air Force had dreamed of becoming a pilot since childhood. During her academic years, she joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC). After completing her engineering studies, she began her career in the Indian Air Force as a helicopter pilot.
On 18 December 2019, Vyomika Singh received a Permanent Commission status in the flying branch. Throughout her service, she has piloted Chetak and Cheetah helicopters across challenging terrains, including high-altitude zones in Jammu and Kashmir and the northeastern states of India. She has actively participated in numerous rescue operations, demonstrating skill and commitment in critical missions.
