Chandrababu Hails India-Pakistan Ceasefire, Urges Unity Against Terrorism
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu described the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan as a positive development. He emphasized that every citizen must uphold the principle of “Nation First” under all circumstances and stand united in times of crisis. He expressed concern that terrorism has become a major challenge to global peace and is causing instability and economic hardship within the country.

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu participated in an interfaith prayer meeting held today at Raj Bhavan under the leadership of Governor Abdul Nazir. During the event, he addressed several key issues.

He stated that the decision taken at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday by top military officials from both India and Pakistan to enforce a ceasefire was a welcome move. He noted that the proposal initially came from Pakistan and was later accepted by India, which he called significant. “Our country does not intend to go to war, but the central government has made it clear that there will be no compromise in the fight against terrorism and extremism,” said N. Chandrababu Naidu. He revealed that representatives from both nations would review the situation on the 12th of this month. He also suggested that a resolution be passed to express condolences to all those who suffered due to the ongoing hostilities.

Reiterating support for national integrity, he said, “Whatever decision the Prime Minister and the central government take in defense of the nation, the Telugu people and the people of Andhra Pradesh will stand fully behind them.” He called on everyone to support the Indian Armed Forces in their fight against terrorism.

The Chief Minister lauded the valor of the Indian military during the six-day-long tense situation at the border following the Pahalgam incident. He mentioned that some soldiers and civilians lost their lives in this struggle, including Murali Naik from Andhra Pradesh. Remembering his sacrifice, he said that Murali Naik, at the young age of 25, had declared that he was ready to lay down his life for the country, draped in the national flag, and died in action during a confrontation with Pakistan.

N. Chandrababu Naidu asserted that India does not harbor intentions to harm other countries but would retaliate strongly if its sovereignty is threatened. He warned that terrorism and extremism, which spread fear among citizens, would never be tolerated. He welcomed the collective pledge of all castes, regions, and religions to serve the nation. He acknowledged that while democracy allows for diverse opinions and ideologies, the state and nation must never backtrack on their future.

He clarified that there is no space for religious discord in Andhra Pradesh and explained that the interfaith meeting was organized to demonstrate unity among all religious communities. He called for a collective expression of solidarity in remembering the sacrifices of the armed forces who laid down their lives for national defense. He also recalled that citizens in border areas faced severe hardships due to constant shelling and that students had to return to their hometowns for safety.
