Ponting disembarks flight amid IPL postponement and ceasefire update
In the wake of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the cricket board has decided to postpone the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) by one week. As a result, several foreign cricketers and support staff began returning to their home countries.

Among them was Punjab Kings (PBKS) head coach Ricky Ponting, who boarded a flight to Australia from Delhi airport on Saturday. However, moments before the flight’s departure, an announcement was made regarding a ceasefire between the two nations. In response, Ricky Ponting immediately disembarked from the aircraft and decided to stay back in Delhi.

Additionally, Ricky Ponting informed other foreign players from the Punjab Kings team about the ceasefire agreement, successfully persuading them to remain in India instead of departing for their respective countries. However, Marco Jansen, a key player from South Africa, proceeded with his journey to his home country via Dubai.
