Countries That Harass Others Will Be Isolated: Key Remarks by Chinese President
Chinese President Xi Jinping has stated that countries which exhibit tendencies of harassment and dominance over others will eventually find themselves isolated. His remarks have gained significance in the backdrop of recent developments in the trade negotiations between the United States and China, which include visible progress and a temporary pause on tariff impositions.

During a meeting in Beijing with the leaders of Brazil, Colombia, and Chile, Xi Jinping emphasized that trade wars benefit no one and do not produce any winners. He expressed the belief that global peace and stability are achievable only when countries cooperate and work together in harmony.

Following the recent fruitful discussions between the United States and China, both countries have agreed on several key decisions. As part of efforts to amicably resolve trade disputes, they have mutually decided to temporarily withdraw the additional tariffs imposed on each other’s products. On Monday, representatives from both nations announced a 90-day ceasefire in the ongoing tariff war.

As part of the agreement, the United States has reduced the tariff rate on goods imported from China by 115 percent, bringing the total tariff down from 145 percent to 30 percent, according to U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer. Similarly, China has also significantly reduced tariffs on American goods, cutting them from 125 percent to 10 percent. This was jointly announced in Geneva by Jamison Greer and U.S. Commerce Secretary Scott Bessent.
