PM Modi Applauds Neeraj Chopra’s Personal Best at Diamond League

Indian star athlete Neeraj Chopra set a new record at the prestigious Diamond League that commenced in Doha on Friday. For the first time in his career, Neeraj Chopra achieved a throw of 90.23 meters. In doing so, the Indian “Golden Boy” surpassed his previous national record of 89.94 meters.
However, Neeraj Chopra secured only the second position in the Doha Diamond League. German athlete Julian Weber won the event by throwing the javelin a remarkable 91.06 meters. Despite not clinching the top spot, Neeraj Chopra’s career-best performance has garnered widespread praise.
Among the many congratulatory messages, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his appreciation to Neeraj Chopra on the platform X (formerly Twitter). Prime Minister Modi said, “An incredible feat! Congratulations to Neeraj Chopra for surpassing the 90-meter mark and achieving his personal best throw at the Doha Diamond League 2025.
