Indian Army’s Key Announcement Regarding Ceasefire Agreement with Pakistan

The Indian Army has issued a significant statement regarding the ceasefire agreement with Pakistan. It categorically denied reports claiming that the ceasefire would end today. The Army clarified that there is no scheduled discussion planned today between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan.
According to the Indian Army, the ceasefire understanding between the two countries does not have a specific end date. It stated that the decisions made during the DGMO-level talks held on May 12 continue to remain in effect for now.
In a related context, the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor, launched in retaliation to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, reportedly caused considerable concern in Pakistan. Despite attempts at retaliation, Pakistani forces were repelled by the Indian Army’s countermeasures. Eventually, with tensions escalating, Pakistan initiated peace overtures, to which India agreed, leading to the implementation of the ceasefire.
Sources indicated that both countries, during the May 12 DGMO-level talks, expressed willingness to continue the temporary ceasefire understanding reached during those discussions.
