Tech Hub Bengaluru Faces Worst Rainfall of the Year
The tech city of Bengaluru has been severely affected by continuous heavy rains, which began on Sunday night and continued until the early hours of Monday. The downpour, which lasted for over six hours without interruption, resulted in widespread flooding across the city.

Low-lying areas have turned into virtual water reservoirs, with residents comparing them to mini-lakes. Locals reported this as the highest rainfall recorded in the city so far this year. Videos depicting the impact of the rain have been widely circulated on social media platforms, showcasing the extent of waterlogging and disruption.

Several key areas, including the Silk Board Junction, HRBR Layout, and Bommanahalli, were inundated. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Bengaluru through Thursday, cautioning residents to remain alert.

The Karnataka State Disaster Monitoring Centre reported that Kengeri recorded the highest rainfall at 132 millimetres. This was closely followed by Vaddarahalli in North Bengaluru, which registered 131.5 millimetres. Many parts of the city experienced more than 100 millimetres of rainfall overnight.
