IPL 2025: Lucknow Posts 205 Against Sunrisers as Top Order Fires

In the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow Super Giants lost the toss and were asked to bat first. The team posted a total of 205 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. A dominant 115-run opening partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram laid a strong foundation for the innings.

Mitchell Marsh scored 65 runs off 39 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes, while Aiden Markram contributed 61 runs from 38 balls with four fours and four sixes. However, team captain Rishabh Pant failed once again, managing to score only 7 runs.

In the middle order, Nicholas Pooran played a crucial knock, scoring 45 runs off 26 balls, which helped push the scoreboard forward for Lucknow. Despite conceding runs freely at the start, the bowlers from Sunrisers Hyderabad tightened their grip in the final overs and successfully curbed Lucknow’s momentum.

Among the Sunrisers’ bowlers, Eshan Malinga took 2 wickets, while Harsh Dubey, Harshal Patel, and Nitish Kumar Reddy each claimed one wicket. In the final over of the innings, Lucknow lost three wickets. Nitish Kumar Reddy took one of these wickets, while the other two were run-outs.
